Not sure if we cover your area?

We cover Edinburgh, The Lothians, Fife, and Dumfries & Galloway. If your town is not listed, ask us — we may still cover it.

Questions about our service areas

Do I need to live in the area to take lessons there?
No. You can take lessons in whichever area is most convenient for you — whether that is near your home, work, or where your practical test will be held. Many learners choose an area that matches their test centre location.
Will my instructor know the local test routes?
Yes. All DTC instructors are based in the areas they teach and have extensive knowledge of the local DVSA test routes. This is one of the key advantages of learning with a local instructor rather than a national franchise.
Do you cover areas not listed on this page?
We cover Edinburgh, The Lothians, Dunfermline, Dumfries, Dunbar, Lockerbie, Musselburgh, Dalkeith, Currie, Penicuik, and surrounding villages. If your area is not listed, please contact us — we may still be able to help or refer you to a trusted partner.
Can I switch areas if I move?
Yes. If you move to a different area within our coverage, we will match you with a new instructor in that location. Your lesson progress transfers with you, and we will ensure continuity in your learning plan.
Do you offer both manual and automatic lessons in every area?
Most areas have both manual and automatic instructors, though availability varies by location. Edinburgh and Dunfermline have the widest range of options. Contact us to confirm instructor availability for your preferred transmission type.
