Cookie Policy

How we use cookies on The DTC website and how you can control them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used.

Why we use cookies

We use cookies for two purposes:

  • Essential cookies — required for the website to function properly (sign-in, security, form handling).
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These are optional and only activated with your consent.

Types of cookies we use

Essential cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. Without them, you would not be able to sign in, access protected areas, or submit enquiry forms. Essential cookies do not require your consent under UK GDPR and PECR.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised information about how visitors use our site. This includes pages visited, time spent, and general location (country-level only). We do not collect personally identifiable information through analytics cookies.

Key privacy features of our analytics setup:

  • IP addresses are anonymised before being sent to Google
  • Cookies are set with Secure and SameSite=Lax flags
  • We do not link analytics data to individual users or CRM records
  • Data is used solely to understand aggregate site usage and improve the website

Analytics cookies are only loaded after you give consent. If you reject or do not consent, no Google Analytics cookies will be set on your device.

Your choices

When you first visit our site, you will see a cookie consent banner. You can:

  • Accept all — essential and analytics cookies will be set
  • Reject non-essential — only essential cookies will be set
  • Manage preferences — choose exactly which categories to allow

You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie preferences” link in the website footer.

Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers allow you to control or delete cookies through their settings. You can usually find these under Settings → Privacy → Cookies. Blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of this and other websites.

Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time, for example if we introduce new cookie categories or change our analytics provider. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
