Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement to terms

By booking a lesson or using our website, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Definitions

• The DTC means The Driving Training Centre.
• Instructor means a driving instructor employed by or contracted to The DTC.
• Learner means the person receiving driving tuition.
• Lesson means a scheduled period of driving tuition.

3. Booking and scheduling

• Lessons must be booked in advance through The DTC by phone, text, email, or the contact form on this website.
• Lesson times are agreed between the learner and instructor and confirmed by The DTC.
• The DTC reserves the right to reassign instructors if the original instructor becomes unavailable.

4. Cancellation policy

• A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or rearrange a lesson without charge.
• Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full lesson rate.
• No-shows will be charged at the full lesson rate.
• If your instructor needs to cancel, we will offer an alternative appointment at no extra cost.

5. Payment

• Individual lessons must be paid for before or at the start of the lesson unless otherwise agreed.
• Block bookings must be paid in advance in full.
• Block booking hours must be used within 12 months of purchase.
• Prices are subject to change. The price agreed at the time of booking will be honoured.

6. Learner responsibilities

• You must hold a valid provisional driving licence and bring it to your first lesson.
• You must be fit to drive and not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that impairs your ability to drive safely.
• You must follow your instructor's directions during lessons.
• You must inform The DTC of any medical conditions that may affect your ability to drive.

7. Vehicle use

• Dual-controlled vehicles are provided by The DTC for lessons unless you arrange to use your own car with your instructor's agreement.
• You are responsible for any parking fines or traffic offences incurred during your lesson that result from your own actions.

8. Test bookings

• The DTC can advise on test booking but the learner is responsible for booking their own theory and practical tests through the DVSA.
• The DTC cannot guarantee a test pass.
• If you wish to use a DTC vehicle for your practical test, this must be arranged in advance and is subject to instructor and vehicle availability.

9. Liability

The DTC carries appropriate motor insurance covering instructors and learners during lessons. The DTC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from lesson cancellations, instructor unavailability, or test outcomes. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the total amount you have paid for the relevant lesson or block booking.

10. Data protection

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By providing your details, you consent to us using them to deliver our services and communicate with you about your lessons and account.

11. Website use

The content on this website is provided for general information about The DTC's services. We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate and up to date but do not warrant that it is error-free. You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish website content without our written permission.

12. Changes to terms

The DTC may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Scots law. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
